Wisconsin Farm Wedding - MaryGrace & Jacob

For MaryGrace and Jacob, celebrating their wedding at the groom’s family farm meant coming back to a place that had already been part of their story for years.

The two knew each other in high school but reconnected in 2020 during a summer weekend with friends on Okauchee Lake. They went on to date long distance for three years while they were in college, eventually getting engaged at Jacob’s family farm.

The farm was also where they had their first date: a picnic, riding ATVs, and watching the sunset together. So when it came time to plan their June wedding, returning to the property for the reception felt especially fitting.

A Church Ceremony Before the Farm Celebration

MaryGrace and Jacob began their wedding day with a traditional church ceremony surrounded by family and friends. The beautiful architecture of the church created an elegant setting for the ceremony before everyone made their way to the farm for the rest of the celebration.

Afterward, the newlyweds and their wedding party took advantage of the property for portraits, including photos beneath MaryGrace and Jacob’s favorite tree. Even their golden retriever, Maisie, joined them for a few photos.

The weather cooperated just in time, too. Storms and rain had moved through the night before, but the wedding day brought clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. It was a hot day without much of a breeze, but after the previous evening’s weather, we were very happy to see the sun!

A Colorful Tented Reception at the Family Farm

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour inside the barn before heading to the tent for dinner and dancing.

The reception design was full of soft color and pattern, with blue and green patterned linens, light blue napkins, warm wood chairs, and arrangements filled with pink, blue, cream, and yellow flowers. The combination felt fresh and colorful while still fitting naturally into the farm setting.

MaryGrace and Jacob also incorporated plenty of personalized details throughout the celebration, including custom cocktail napkins and matchboxes. Maisie even made another appearance in the wedding details, complete with her own illustrated cocktail napkin welcoming guests to get the “paw-ty” started.

The bride’s dad also had a unique role in bringing the reception to life. He owns Clearwing, the production company that provided the power and lighting for the celebration. With a private-estate wedding requiring everything to be brought onto the property, having that expertise within the family made the setup even more personal.

A Reception Full of Personality

The newlyweds weren’t afraid to have a little fun with their reception, from props during the grand march to Maisie making her way onto the dance floor for part of the evening.

One of our favorite moments, though, came courtesy of three very dedicated young wedding guests.

MaryGrace teaches dance, and three of the girls attending the wedding missed their dance recital so they could be there to celebrate with her. Instead, they brought the recital to the wedding! The girls grabbed their pom-poms and performed their dance to “Shake It Off” for the reception guests. It was adorable, completely unexpected for many of the guests, and such a fun personal moment to include in the evening.

Wedding Management for a Private Estate Celebration

Private-estate weddings can be incredibly special, but they also come with a lot of logistics. Unlike a traditional venue where much of the infrastructure is already in place, a farm wedding means coordinating everything from the tent and rentals to power, lighting, vendors, setup, and the flow of guests throughout the property.

Our team provided Wedding Management for MaryGrace and Jacob, with Krista leading the planning process and Laura and Alex joining her to execute the wedding day.

We love that MaryGrace and Jacob were able to experience the day that way, especially with a wedding that required so many moving pieces behind the scenes.
