Carriage House at Lac La Belle Wedding - Kim & Lance

For Kim and Lance, their May wedding at The Carriage House at Lac La Belle was centered around the people closest to them. From getting ready with family to portraits with their daughter and dog, so much of the day was about celebrating together.

With a beautiful sunny day in Oconomowoc, they were also able to make the most of the entire property with an outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour on the patio, an indoor reception and sunset portraits overlooking the water.

An Outdoor Ceremony at Lac La Belle

Kim spent the morning getting ready with family before heading outside for the ceremony. White florals and greenery lined the aisle and ceremony space, complementing the natural setting without taking away from the surrounding landscape.

Their dog was part of the celebration too, joining Lance for portraits beforehand and making an appearance during the ceremony.

After Kim and Lance exchanged vows, they stayed outside for family and newlywed portraits around the property before guests moved to the patio for cocktail hour. With yard games and plenty of outdoor space, guests could enjoy the sunny May afternoon before heading inside for dinner.

A Family-Focused Wedding Celebration

Family was woven throughout Kim and Lance’s wedding day. Beyond the traditional family portraits, they made time for photos together with their daughter and dog, a reflection of the life and family they were celebrating alongside their marriage.

The relaxed flow of the day also gave everyone plenty of opportunities to spend time together. Rather than keeping the celebration contained to one space, guests moved from the outdoor ceremony to the patio and eventually inside The Carriage House for the reception.

It’s one of the advantages of a venue like Lac La Belle: there’s room for each part of the wedding day to have its own setting while everything still feels connected.

Reception at The Carriage House at Lac La Belle

Inside, the reception design continued the classic look from the ceremony with white florals, greenery and soft blue accents. Wooden cross-back chairs and warm neutral details complemented the bright, modern space, while a mix of tall and low floral arrangements added dimension throughout the room.

Kim and Lance had their own sweetheart table and kicked off the evening with their reception entrance, cake cutting and toasts.

Later, they stepped outside for sunset portraits along the water. The lake made a beautiful backdrop in the evening light and gave the two of them a few moments away before returning inside for their first dance, parent dances and an open dance floor.

From a sunny outdoor ceremony to sunset by the water, Kim and Lance’s wedding made the most of everything The Carriage House at Lac La Belle has to offer. More importantly, it gave them a day that kept their family at the center of the celebration from beginning to end.
